New Year, New Wines

Hello Collectors,

First and foremost, I hope that everyone had a great holiday season full of family, friends, food and of course, great wine! Now that 2024 is upon us, Cellar Trading will embark on its 10th year of business! There are many things that we will continue to do the same like bringing you high quality, high-provenance wines at strong market prices. We are going to continue to grow and improve as we have over the last few years, and we hope you’re as excited as we are for this next chapter!

Today’s offer is all about “new”: new offers, as well as new arrivals. The new arrivals I’m most excited about today are the first batch of 2021 Bordeaux’s to hit our warehouse! We have more than a dozen wines in stock, with another large chunk set to arrive next month as well. I’ve gotten the chance to revisit a half dozen of these wines in the last 2 weeks, and I have to say, my initial impressions were happily met now that the wines are bottled. These are classic, old-school Bordeaux that may have turned out even better than I originally thought. The whites have crackling acidity and are going to require a bit of patience, but the reds are so sophisticated and complex that I implore you to buy a few and try them for yourselves right away!

Possibly lost in the holiday rush was our 2020 Cecile Tremblay offer. Fortunately, we still have wines to offer, and you really don’t want to miss out on these. They literally hit our warehouse this morning and will be ready to ship on Monday. The grandniece of none other than Henri Jayer, Cecile Tremblay has really taken off in the last 2 years, and the quality of the wines has reached an all-time high for her. I took a look at Wine Searcher this morning, and in some cases, we are hundreds of dollars less than our competitors. Good time to buy before someone else does!

We also have a small but exciting collection from Harlan’s single vineyard project- Bond. Coming from 2 coveted vintages, 2016 and 2019, these are fascinating and unique wines that are frankly a bargain when compared to the price of Harlan and Promontory. I’m also thrilled to offer two different masters of Sauvignon Blanc: Edmund Vatan and the ridiculously rare “Asteroide” bottling from Dagueneau. And white wine fans will not want to miss new releases from Alex Moreau (formerly Bernard Moreau), Jacques Carillon and Jean Marc Roulot, all similarly recognized as some of the best in their class.
