Summer Spirits

Hello Collectors,

Here at Cellar Trading, we’re known for our viniferous offerings, but make no mistake: we love great spirits, and it’s clear that our collectors do too. Today, we’re returning with another of our exciting (if infrequent) liquor lists, ranging from rarities and collectibles to sipping staples. And there’s no better way for us to celebrate the Fourth than to showcase America’s official national spirit: Bourbon.

We’ll kick things off with some showstoppers from across the pond, however: two each from France and Scotland. Louis XIII is a benchmark Cognac, famed globally for its incredible complexity, generosity, and mystique—and we’ve got one today, at the internet’s best price. Moving south to Burgundy, we also have an incredibly rare bottle of 1992 DRC Marc de Bourgogne, an astounding and truly unique way to experience a vintage from perhaps the world’s greatest winery. From Scotland, we have two red-hot releases from Macallan. First is the Harmony Intense Arabica, a special blend inspired by the flavor profiles of Ethiopian Arabica coffee. Second is the highly anticipated 30-year-old Sherry Oak Single Malt, matured in hand-selected Oloroso Sherry-seasoned casks from Jerez, which truly must be tasted to be believed. Its balance of dark, spicy, malt-derived notes and fruity lift from the barrels is nothing short of stunning.

In a category that’s really all its own, we’ve got one bottle left of the Suntory Hibiki Harmony Limited Edition Japanese Whiskey. This is a truly special spirit, with packaging befitting what’s inside, each bottle painted with flowers and flowing ribbons of water. A blend of Japanese malt and grain whiskeys, this Hibiki is light and ethereal on first approach, but a dazzling array of flavors and aromas then quickly follow. Rose, lychee, sandalwood, and candied orange peel jump out, then lead into a long, elegant finish.

And now, the grand finale: Bourbon. We’ve got collectibles galore today, like Old Forester Birthday Bourbon, George T. Stagg (and Jr.), and Michter’s of many stripes (Sour Mash, 10 Year Bourbon, US-1 Bourbon, and US-1 Rye). We’ve also restocked favorites from the Buffalo Trace distillery: E.H. Taylor, Eagle Rare, and Blanton’s. Fans of wheated Bourbon will love our diverse selection from Weller, including 12 Year, Full Proof, CYPB (coming off a Best Kentucky Bourbon award win), Antique 107, and Special Reserve. Most of these are seriously limited in quantity, so definitely don’t delay if something catches your eye.

Of course, no Bourbon list would be truly complete without Pappy Van Winkle, which we have plenty of today. We’re thrilled to return with several bottles each of 10 Year, 12 Year, and 15 Year. And for one very lucky collector, we’ve got a single bottle of the iconic 23 Year. If you’re a Bourbon fan and have never experienced the generosity, complexity, and singular character of a Van Winkle spirit: carpe diem.

Finally, a little PSA. With the summer months upon us, we’ll be reducing our emails to one per week: your beloved Friday List. We’re still here though, so if you need us for anything at all, you can visit the online shop, email us at winesales@domainestorage.com, or call us at 202-987-7565.
