The Friday List - 7/28/2023

California Love

Hello Collectors,

It’s been hard to decide what to feature on these summer Fridays. With only one offer per week, and an inventory brimming with great wines, it’s starting to feel like we’re always picking the favorite child. Since this has been an Old World heavy summer, and since we introduced some California wines last week, we’ve decided today to run a full-on Golden State Friday List. The only downside? Supplies are very limited!

The highlight of today’s offer isn’t a single wine, but 30—that is to say, the 30 (yes, thirty!) perfectly scored wines gracing this list. We begin with some mature selections from Aubert, both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Matching them in prestige is Marcassin, making two of California’s greatest producers of Burgundian varieties available for you in one place today. If you’re looking to stock up on some showstopper wines for the warm weather or a holiday table later in the year, this is a great opportunity.

As mentioned, bottle counts are limited today, but what this list lacks in quantity, it makes up for in breadth across each producer. Original “cult” wineries like Screaming Eagle, Harlan, Bryant Family, and Colgin are all nicely represented, including mature vintages that can be opened now or soon. Newer inductees to the cult world are here too, like Maybach, Bond, Hundred Acre, and Scarecrow. And rounding out this focused offer, there are smaller—but serious—selections from Napa standouts like Shafer Hillside, Kinsman, Phelps Insignia, Promontory Penultimate, and Kapcsándy Family. But remember: these quantities are limited, so if you see something enticing, don’t wait to claim it for your cellar… or it will end up in someone else’s! We surely won’t see some of these again for a while either, like the incredible 1997 Insignia.

Also, a PSA. With the summer months upon us, we’ve reduced our emails to one per week: your beloved Friday List. We’re still here though, so if you need us for anything at all, you can visit the online shop, email us at winesales@domainestorage.com, or call us at 202-987-7565.
