A Century in the Making

Hello Collectors,

Next year will mark 100 years since the establishment of Domaine Georges Roumier. Their achievements since are nothing short of staggering, having become one of the most important wineries not just in Burgundy, but in the entire world. I’m willing to bet that if you were offered a seat at a Roumier dinner and you already had plans, you’d end up drinking Roumier. That’s the kind of magic alive in their vineyards, winery, and bottles.

From its founding, the Domaine had small but enviable parcels in some of Burgundy’s most celebrated vineyards. But the real turning point came when Christophe Roumier—Georges’s grandson—partnered with his father to co-manage the estate. Together, they were able to substantially increase their vineyard holdings beyond their already impressive lineup. While the Musigny remains the Roumier portfolio’s crown jewel, its annual production is so incredibly small that it’s hand bottled and rarely seen. Fortunately, they have substantial holdings in nearby Bonnes Mares, in both the Terres Rouges and Terres Blanches sections, a combination that creates one of the most complete wines from the famous Grand Cru. Today, we’re thrilled to offer you an incredible selection: 5 vintages, dating all the way back to 1996.

One especially noteworthy quality of Roumier wines is that they punch above their weight classes, so Premier Cru bottlings like Clos de La Bussière are routinely staggering and age exceptionally well. I recently had the 2002 and was completely spellbound. Sadly, we don’t have that one available today, but I’m hopeful that today’s selections will reach the same high in time. But it doesn’t matter which of these wines you buy: there is an epic bottle in your future, regardless of your selection. Truly, you don’t want to miss out on this unique top-tier offer.
