Medium red. Highly nuanced nose combines bitter cherry, rose petal, wild mushroom, marzipan and resiny oak. Silky and seamless but almost painfully young today. The red and black currant-scented 1999 Bonnes Mares (domaine) is light to medium-bodied and foursquare. This concentrated, intense, blackberry-flavored wine is unyielding and firm.
