2002 Domaine Armand Rousseau, Chambertin-Clos de Beze Grand Cru 1x750ml

Vinous 93-96

Deep, saturated red with ruby highlights. Pure, captivating aromas of blackberry, blueberry and spicy oak. Sappy and uncommonly sweet but not at all thick or heavy. Still a bit closed in the mouth but already shows compelling perfume. There’s no sign of the 13.7% (natural) alcohol. Distinctly tighter and more powerful than the Clos Saint-Jacques. The 2002 Chambertin Clos de Beze bursts with spicy red cherry aromas. This medium to full-bodied wine has an exceptionally spicy personality that is crammed with red licorice (Twizzlers), candied raspberries, Asian spices, and blackberries. Wonderfully focused and armed with substantial depth, this medium to full-bodied wine’s exceedingly long finish displays awesomely ripe tannin. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2020.
