Tasting Notes

Robert Parker 85

An unashamed ripe nose of raspberry sorbet, cassis and raisin. Very pure and attractive. The palate is full-bodied with good acidity , fleshy in texture with a grainy mouth feel towards the finish. A touch of black truffle infused within ripe red-berried fruit.  Commendable. Drinking 2007-2011.  Tasted January 2007. [01/01/2007]

Anticipated maturity: 2008-2011

Vinous 88-91

(nearly 90% merlot) Excellent ruby-red. Black fruits, violet, licorice and bitter chocolate on the nose. Quite juicy in the mouth, even a bit youthfully hard-edged, with very fresh blueberry, black cherry, licorice and mineral flavors. Has the energy of a wine from chalky soil. Vibrant finish features firm tannins and good persistence. This has a reasonable 3.4 grams per liter of acidity and a pH of 3.7, according to winemaker Stephane Derenoncourt.
