(from vines more than 70 years of age, located both at the rocky top and richer bottom of the slope) Bright ruby-red. Wild red and black fruits complicated by a mineral nuance. Sweet, lush and creamy in the mouth, with the wine’s fatness coming as a surprise after the nose. Plenty of tannins here but the tannins are sweet and supple. [Stephen Tanzer, 03/01/2007]
