Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2012 tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Meursault 1er Cru Porusots from Benjamin Leroux has a conservative, tightly-knit bouquet with hazelnut and a touch of smoke emerging with time. The palate is fresh on the entry with orange zest and a distant tang of marmalade. This has very good weight and harmony, building all the time in the glass towards a very composed and decidedly forward finish that suggests it might not have as long a future as its peers.
Anticipated maturity: 2015-2021
