In a vintage that produced big, massively tannic wines, the 2013 Pluribus stands out for its total finesse. Pluribus is also the most delicate and refined of the Bond 2013s. Lavender, mint, violet, plum and a host of bluish/purplish fruits all develop with time, but it is the wine’s lifted, gracious personality that makes the strongest impression. Quite shockingly, the 2013 can be enjoyed young. Even so, I would prefer to cellar it for at least a few years.
Anticipated maturity: 2021-2038
The 2013 Pluribus Proprietary Red Wine is quite rich and structured, with great intensity, loads of blueberry, black raspberry, and blackberry fruit, high tannin, and again, a full-bodied, uncompromising mouthfeel. Forget it for 5-8 years and drink it over the following 30-40 years.
Anticipated maturity: 2020-2063
