Bright ruby. Highly perfumed scents of ripe red and dark berries, garrigue, white pepper and woodsmoke. Sappy and open-knit, showing very good clarity and lift to the juicy raspberry and cherry compote flavors. Showing beautifully and one of the most charming, supple and sweetly fruited wines in the vintage, the Maurel brothers’ 2013 Chateauneuf du Pape offers plenty of blackberry and kirsch-like fruits, white pepper and Provencal herbs in a medium-bodied, silky and lightly textured style.
