The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Melanson Vineyard is a dark, brooding wine. A blast of wild cherry, chocolate, spice, menthol, licorice and gravel makes a strong first impression. The tannins are pretty forbidding in the early going, so readers should plan on being patient. This is a tiny blend of just 75 barrels. Not surprisingly, the oak signature is a bit more prominent than in some of the other wines. The 2019 is a real powerhouse. [Antonio Galloni, 07/01/2022]
